Fatemeh Angela Harkness, 31, of Round Rock, pleaded guilty in January 2004 to conspiring with banker Gary Jones to embezzle more than $1 million from his Austin bank from 2000 to 2003. She received a 40-month sentence. Harkness and Jones used the money to assemble a NASCAR team called Angela's Motorsports. The team, featuring driver Mike McLaughlin, entered cars in the Busch Grand National Series starting in late 2002. Harkness fled to Mexico before her sentencing in 2004 and continued on to the United Arab Emirates. She surrendered last month and was returned to the U.S. for sentencing. Harkness' attorney of record, Rick J. Kennon of Austin, did not immediately return calls for comment. Jones, who pleaded guilty to fraud, theft and embezzlement charges, was sentenced to nearly four years in prison in August 2004.

It's pretty creepy. I mean, are you going to sell the sex scene where Lara Roxx caught HIV? It's like you're only thinking about money. It's disgusting. Don't use it, I don't care if I signed the release, don't use it." Throughout the interview, Roxx's cell phone rings a ludicrously loud funky tone. Her first call prompts her to grab a fat marker, which she uses to write down a list of homeless shelters welcoming the HIV-positive. Just weeks ago the 21-year-old Montrealer was spending the ample earnings of 15 locally-shot sex scenes. But on March 24, Roxx - a stage name that combines reference to Lara Croft and a taste for jewellery - was infected with HIV in Los Angeles by Darren James in a condom-free double anal scene in which she was simultaneously sodomized by James and Marc Anthony. "I thought that the money I was making with 10 customers, I could make that with one guy." Her first film experience, on January 10, was with local producer Bruno B. "I was managing myself back then, and at first it went well. He was really nice, and we spoke for 45 minutes before he told me stuff like exactly how big his penis was. He had the condom but he came on my face, which was really disgusting. But I felt I had to get used to that if I was going to be in porn for two or three years."
Roxx found herself pulling in $2,000 for a few hours' work a week, and spending much of the loot on consumer goods. "I decorated my room and bought a lot of nice clothes, I bought CDs, a CD player - no, actually that was my father's gift - and these super Koss speakers. "Perreault really convinced me that it wasn't worth it for him to represent me or for me to waste my time waiting on contracts if I insisted on doing condoms only." At Perreault's home studio at Belanger and 26th Avenue in Rosemount, Roxx filmed her first-ever anal scene with Darren James on February 10. Roxx says she and producer Marc Anthony got along well. Maybe I'm just supposed to open my legs and that's all they want in this industry. That's one of the things I intend to change. I want to change it so the girl gets more respect than that."
Says her lawyer, Daniel Lighter: "She went to L.A. because it is supposedly the most professional and sophisticated place in the world for people to do this type of work. She left as a perfectly healthy girl and came back with a death sentence." Lighter says there is no doubt that she got the infection from James, and that recent viral load tests have shown James has had the infection longer than her. He adds that he is considering legal action in California against "the actors, agents and corporations who shot or oversaw the shooting of the scene." Several funds have been set up to help her and two other actresses - Jessica Dee and Miss Arroyo - who contracted HIV via James, but Roxx says she has not yet received a cent. She also complains that purportedly sympathetic porn industry managers have snatched up the rights to her Web site, www.lararoxx.com, which she wants to use to as a tool to start her foundation. She says that in the days following the breaking of her story, millions went to the site only to be redirected to porn sites. The site now redirects - as she has requested - to an AIDS awareness site.
Later during the afternoon of our interview Roxx starts on a flurry of calls inquiring about any funds that may have been raised. She leaves messages. She's also hoping for some progress on incorporating a charitable foundation and begs generous souls to send cheques for The Lara Roxx Foundation to her lawyer at: Daniel Lighter In Trust, 500 Place d'Armes, Suite 2350, Montreal, H2Y 2W2. At the end of a series of dead ends, Roxx finally gets a bit of bright news: her lawyer informs her that Entertainment Tonight will fly her to New York and pay her $3,500 (U.S.) to tape an interview. She's happy for the publicity. "I don't want to do what my mom would want, which is to hide and be sad and think bad ideas. I'd rather act. I want people to still talk about me because I want them to see that I'm doing something good in society."
Along with dreams of starting an HIV camp, Roxx - who says her physical intimacy since the moment she was infected entails a single hug - also wants to direct "horror-type films" and has a career in rap in view. "I'd love to work with Dr. Dre and Timberlake," she says before opening up a notebook to rap an autobiographical number: "Do you think you are better than me?/I bet you are scared of my disease/You are stuck on HIV I see/You probably say Lara Roxx on TV, Lara Roxx on the rocks, you see/Only one person to be judging me, it's not you, you see, you've got problems just like me."

NY- New York's strippers may soon have a real license to thrill. State Assemblyman Felix Ortiz, D-Brooklyn, proposed legislation Monday which would require the state's exotic dancers to obtain a permit to ply their trade or face a fine. The "Dance Performer Registration Act" would create a database of the Empire State's exotic dancers. To bare it all, each stripper would have to register — under their real name — with the state's Labor Department every three years. Anyone caught shimmying without a permit would be fined — $20 for the first offense and $50 for every offense thereafter. But the proposed law isn't sitting well with the state's strip clubs, which would be required to obtain a certificate to employ licensed dancers under the legislation or face fines of $1,000 or more. "This is an example of big government trying to put their hands in the dancers' G-strings," said Lonnie Hanover, the spokesman for the Scores chain of strip clubs. " And everyone knows there's no touching — that's not allowed."
Scores, which has seven clubs nationwide, says the bill isn't necessary. "Full-time dancers at scores earn six-figure incomes," Hanover said. "Most of our performers are paying their way through college and there's a waiting list of women who want to become dancers at Scores." Molly, a 28-year-old who has danced on and off for a decade, said the law has its pros and cons. "It is good that it will quit underage girls from dancing," she said. "You don't want anybody too young to be wrapped up into that industry, but I can guarantee you, most girls won't be too happy about it." She said the registry would blow the lid off of dancers' finances."I don't really like it, you know what I mean," Molly said. "When you're a dancer you're tax free, you're not really registered — they'd have proof of your income."
Within the dark confines of a Times Square gentleman's club, three-year industry veteran "Rebecca" (she refused to give her real name) didn't think the proposal would work in a business where women come and go as quickly as their customers. She wondered Thursday how exactly the state planned to issue the permits, not to mention where the gyrating girls would put them."Like [when] we go for a driver's test, we've got to read the book, we've got to take the test," Rebecca said. "What test are you going to take to get a permit?" An application, Ortiz said, is all that would be required.
The real sticky issue, Rebecca said, would be the provision that required the dancers to give the state their real name."There's a lot of people who are not legal," she said. Those are the individuals Ortiz is hoping to protect." In order for us to end the on-the-ground industry of human trafficking, this is the first step in the right direction to bring the invisible to be visible," Ortiz said. If passed into law, the Dance Performer Registration Act would go into effect Jan. 1, 2008.

Documentary Explores Fight Against Internet Porn...

WWW- [NY Press]- "Traffic Control: The People's War on Internet Porn," is a new film documentary film from Living Biography, outlining the case for stronger laws against smut-peddling in the face of legal challenges to the Child Online Protection Act (COPA), which has been struck down by the courts three times since 1998. The movie takes a clear stance in opposition to the prevalence of Internet porn, but beyond its slant the film also looks at the efforts of activist Ralph Yarro to create the Internet Community Port Act, a piece of legislation supporters state would make internet porn regulation possible without infringing on the First Amendment.
The proposal, also known as the CP80 Internet Channel Initiative, would use the existing infrastructure of the web to categorize online content through different port ranges or channels: one for general content and another for pornography. "The solution will enable personal choice in your Internet experience and protect the critical rights granted under the First Amendment," said Yarro."We decided to make this film after hearing about Ralph's initiative," said director Bryan Hall. "What came loud and clear from the people we interviewed was first, online adult content is everywhere, and second, they were open to new approaches to regulating this content. What we learned was shocking--the inability to effectively manage this type of content has dramatic social and business ramifications for our society. We realized this was an issue that demanded broader exposure."
A follow-up film is slated for release in Spring 2008.

Is DC Madam Expose a Bust?
McLEAN, Va. — A woman accused of running a Washington-area prostitution ring detailed her business in a highly anticipated TV interview Friday night but identified no new well-known clients. Deborah Jeane Palfrey supplied the ABC newsmagazine "20/20" with 46 pounds of phone records from her escort service, Pamela Martin and Associates, in hopes that its investigation would ferret out clients who would testify that they did not have sex with the women Palfrey employed. Some of the phone records could be tracked to prominent business executives, NASA officials, at least five military officers and exclusive neighborhood mansions, according to the ABC report. But there were no members of Congress or White House officials traced through Palfrey's records, the network reported.
Palfrey, 51, of Vallejo, Calif., is charged in federal court with racketeering and money laundering associated with prostitution. She said she ran the business, Pamela Martin and Associates, from her laundry room, and that the women who worked for her signed contracts in which they promised not to have sex with clients."These were not cheap women. These were very nice women who just needed to make a few extra dollars," Palfrey said. Palfrey did identify one of her escorts, a former university professor who committed suicide after being charged with prostitution. Palfrey maintained the business was legitimate."I was selling fantasy sex," Palfrey said. The Washington escort service carried out its business undetected at some of the city's most exclusive hotels, she said. The service charged a flat rate of $275 for 90 minutes, she said.
The most prominent client of Palfrey's business was senior State Department official Randall Tobias, who resigned from his post last week after ABC confronted him about his use of the service. He previously directed international AIDS relief programs for the Bush administration that promote abstinence and require grant recipients to sign a pledge opposing prostitution. Tobias has said he obtained massages but denied having sex with the escorts. In court papers last month and again in Friday's interview, Palfrey named Harlan Ullman, known as an author of the "shock and awe" combat strategy, as a regular customer. Ullman's attorney, Marc Mukasey, said Friday before the interview aired that Palfrey should not assume that Ullman will give helpful testimony on her behalf. He declined to elaborate.
On Thursday, a lawyer for Palfrey said an instructor at the U.S. Naval Academy was one of the service's escorts and ABC reported that a secretary at a prominent law firm was another escort.Montgomery Blair Sibley, Palfrey's civil attorney, confirmed a report in the Navy Times that an academy instructor worked as an independent contractor for Palfrey's service. Sibley said he didn't know whether the person is still at the academy.An academy spokeswoman said she had no information about Sibley's claim. ABC said a legal secretary at the Akin Gump law firm was suspended after telling her bosses that she had been secretly working as one of Palfrey's escorts. ABC did not name the woman, who told Akin Gump she expects to be a government witness in the case. Palfrey told ABC that most of her escorts worked for her because they needed the money. Palfrey said she urged the women who answered her newspaper and phone book ads to think seriously before signing up."Many of these girls had never done this kind of work before," Palfrey said.
Palfrey said some of the most popular women were in their 50s. She said that there was never an age limit, and that most of the women worked about three shifts a week, ending each night at 11 p.m."I made sure they either worked or went to school in the daytime," she said. Palfrey, who was sentenced to 18 months in a California prison in 1991 after pleading guilty to attempted pimping, said she rejected an offer in the current case to plead guilty to reduced charges in return for a four-month prison term.
Palfrey and the Internet radio station wsRadio.com will auction tapes of five one-hour interviews with her next week, The Washington Post reported Friday. Bids will start at $5,000. The station's president, Chris Murch, declined to disclose details of the contract to the newspaper but said Palfrey will donate 10 percent of the proceeds to charity.

The owner is being investigated for distribution child pornography. Police became aware of the website’s existence after the news department on TV channel Stöd 2 began researching it yesterday, Fréttabladid reports.The site is hosted by internet company Hive, which asked the owner to close it down according to police orders.

Deputy Secretary of State Randall L. Tobias submitted his resignation Friday, one day after confirming to ABC News that he had been a customer of a Washington, D.C. escort service whose owner has been charged by federal prosecutors with running a prostitution operation.
Tobias, 65, director of U.S. Foreign Assistance and administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), had previously served as the ambassador for the President's Emergency Fund for AIDS Relief.
A State Department press release late Friday afternoon said only he was leaving for "personal reasons."
On Thursday, Tobias told ABC News he had several times called the "Pamela Martin and Associates" escort service "to have gals come over to the condo to give me a massage."
Tobias, who is married, said there had been "no sex," and that recently he had been using another service "with Central Americans" to provide massages.
Tobias' private cell number was among thousands of numbers listed in the telephone records provided to ABC News by Jeane Palfrey, the woman dubbed the "D.C. Madam," who is facing the federal charges. In an interview to be broadcast on "20/20" next Friday, Palfrey says she intends to call Tobias and a number of her other prominent D.C. clients to testify at her trial.
"I'm sure as heck not going to be going to federal prison for one day, let alone, four to eight years, because I'm shy about bringing in the deputy secretary of whatever," Palfrey told ABC News. Palfrey maintains she ran a sexual fantasy business that was legal and that if any of the women who were working for her had sex, they did so in violation of her rules and without her knowledge. She says there are a number of other prominent Washington, D.C. men who will be on her witness list. "I'll bring every last one of them in if necessary," Palfrey said.
As the Bush administration's so-called "AIDS czar," Tobias was criticized by some for emphasizing faithfulness and abstinence over condom use to prevent the spread of AIDS.In a 2004 interview, Tobias explained his approach as "A and B and C. . . Abstinence works. 'Be faithful' works. Condoms work. They all have a role. But it's not a multiple choice, where there is only one answer." As a top official overseeing global AIDS funding to other countries, Tobias was responsible for enforcing a U.S. policy, enacted during the Bush administration, that requires recipients to swear they oppose prostitution and sex trafficking. USAID adopted a similar policy in 2004.
At an April 18 speech, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice praised Tobias' work. "Randy Tobias has indeed had many roles in his life, but none more important than the roles he's played in government, where he has been someone who has been most involved in organizing America's compassion to the world."A biography of Tobias was removed from the USAID Web site, but an archived version shows that before joining the State Department, Tobias had been CEO of drug manufacturer Eli Lilly Co. and AT&T Communications and served on the board of trustees for Duke University, including three years as its chair. In 2003, he co-wrote a book on leadership lessons with his son, Todd, entitled, "Put the Moose on the Table." Indiana University, whose publishing arm produced the volume, is also home to the Randall L. Tobias Center for Leadership Excellence. Playboy Playmate Busted on Cocaine Trafficking

CHARLESTON, S.C. — A woman who was the December 2006 Playboy Playmate of the Month and a personal trainer, both of Atlanta, have been charged with trafficking cocaine after police say maids discovered a kilo of the drug in their hotel room. Kia Terrell Drayton, 24, and Otis Leon Story, 33, were arrested as they left their room at the Residence Inn near North Charleston Coliseum on Wednesday morning, according to arrest warrants. Both also are charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime. Their bail was set at $2.2 million each and they remained in jail Thursday night.
Drayton identified herself as a Playboy employee during her hearing. According to police reports, housekeeping staff started cleaning Drayton's room thinking she had checked out. They discovered a black gym bag left on top of a hotel safe and found a brick-shaped package wrapped in duct tape inside the safe. According to police reports, the staff called officers after unwrapping the package and finding a powdery white substance. Police watched the room and when Story left the room with a black bag, officers stopped him and found the brick that had been in the safe, according to affidavits supporting the arrest warrants.
Police say when they searched the gold Cadillac Escalade Drayton was driving, they found two handguns, a .40-caliber Glock 22 and a .357-caliber Glock 32. Police said they seized 1,138 grams of cocaine.

LOS ANGELES - A man who hosted a hip-hop themed Playboy Channel program was sentenced today to more than 11 years in federal prison for his role in a ring that used women posing as models to smuggle Ecstasy. Kenneth Cecil Francis III, who featured hip-hop stars on his program "Buckwild," was arrested in May 2006 at Los Angeles International Airport when he arrived from a trip to Europe with Snoop Dogg, a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement official said. Francis, 38, who has been jailed since then, pleaded guilty last year to conspiracy to import Ecstasy. Authorities have said that in 2000 and 2001, the ring in which Francis took part smuggled hundreds of thousands of Ecstasy tablets from Europe into the United States.
The female couriers told authorities they had been instructed that they were smuggling diamonds, Assistant U.S. Attorney Cheryl Murphy said. In reality, the gift-wrapped packages they carried contained as many as 65,000 tablets of the club drug, which were later sold in Los Angeles and New York, authorities said. The ring was able to smuggle "significant quantities" before the scheme was uncovered, according to Kevin Kozak, the head of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement investigations office in Los Angeles. Before he was sentenced, Francis told U.S. District Judge Manuel Real that he "got involved in this whole drug-smuggling conspiracy by wanting to start my own business, which was a modeling business." He said he originally thought the models were actually going to Europe to do photo shoots, but that he later learned about the smuggling.
Real appeared unswayed, and imposed the 135-month term with little comment.Attorneys for Francis were seeking a much shorter prison term of 51 months. Outside court, one of his lawyers, Kiana Sloan-Hiller, said Francis will appeal the sentence. The investigation began in 2001 when one of the couriers was stopped at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport after arriving on a flight from Amsterdam. Prosecutors say the leader of the ring was Ronald Joseph Samuel, who was editor-in-chief of the hip-hop magazine UNleased. Samuel has pleaded guilty in the case and is awaiting sentencing, Murphy said. Seven other defendants in the case have been sentenced to terms ranging from 37 to 109 months, the prosecutor said.

The City Council has tried for years to force the businesses from some main commercial corridors by limiting how closely they can operate to churches, schools, homes and each other. This leaves sites mostly in heavy industrial zones. In Friday's suit, the clubs' owners said their businesses, some of which have been in the same locations for decades, would not survive such a move. "I would not relocate the club to any of these sites because I believe my customers would not patronize a business in these locations, in some cases due to the remoteness of its location, and in others due to the perception of it being a run-down or perhaps dangerous part of town," Carl Edward Collins, the owner of Harper's II and Harper's II Exotic Car Wash, said in court filings. When zoning changes were made in the past, existing businesses would be allowed to remain, Councilwoman Sandy Carmany said. But when the council began pushing five years ago to remove sexually oriented businesses from parts of the city , it opted to give them a set amount of time to recoup any expenses before forcing them to move or close. "The most we can legally do is put requirements on where they can operate," Carmany said. "That's what we have successfully done." In the previous lawsuit, U.S. District Judge William Osteen Sr. ruled in September in favor of the clubs. He ruled the ordinance as written only applied to new clubs; he did not address the distance restrictions. After Osteen's ruling, the city appealed to the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond, Va., which has yet to hear the case. Meanwhile, the council passed a new development ordinance that specifically included existing businesses.That ordinance, which passed Nov. 7, gave existing clubs six months to comply or shut down. Effectively, it would force all five of the clubs to close May 7, the owners argued in court filings Friday. They are seeking an injunction to stop the city from shutting them down as well as a ruling about whether the ordinance violates the U.S. Constitution. The clubs argue that the ordinance harms erotic expression in Greensboro, violating the First Amendment.

Players Club Drama...AGAIN!
Why is this little club on High Point Rd. in G'boro, NC causing so much damn drama?
I've heard through the strip club grapevine that there have been a # of fights (w/ 1 girl smashin' a beer bottle on a dude's head. Yeah, that's right, A DANCER!) in the club & some1 even had a gun INSIDE THE CLUB!
I'm surprised that this club is still open.
The word is that the manager's a drunk & "special customers" r not checked 4 weapons upon entry of the club. Johnny has passed responsibility of the club 2 his son because even he is tired of the bullshit!

A 37-year-old has been sent to prison for distributing child porn.
Clint Eastwood, of Acregate Lane, Ribbleton, Preston, was caught with 180 illegal child porn images.Preston Crown Court was told that Eastwood's offending came to light when police were called to investigate complaints by a 13-year-old boy and girl. They told police that they went to a house in Preston last January to see a friend and Eastwood was there. Prosecutor, Graham Pickavance, said the defendant, in full view of the youngsters, turned on a computer and the live webcam showed a man committing an indecent act. Police were called and eventually Eastwood's computer was seized. There was evidence he had distributed some of the illegal child porn images to others, the court was told.One of the images was of a most serious category although the vast majority were of the lower levels the judge was told. Eastwood had denied two charges of causing a child to watch a sexual act for his own gratification. He claimed to a jury in a trial last month that he had agreed the children could wait at the property for their friend and they had accidentally seen the webcam. The jury convicted him on both charges by unanimous verdicts.
Eastwood pleaded guilty to 16 offences of distributing illegal images of children, 12 of making illegal images and one charge of possessing child porn. As well as the three year jail term, Judge Andrew Blake ordered that all computer equipment in his possession was confiscated. He also told Eastwood that he would be on the Sex Offenders Register for life and disqualified him from ever working with children. A background report had stated he still represented a high risk of re-offending, the judge told him. Andrew Sinker, for Eastwood, said the majority of the images, while illegal, were not of the most serious categories. He had no previous convictions involving sexual matters, added Mr Sinker.
